NEW DELHI,INDIA: India’s largest carrier, IndiGo Airlines (6E), has announced a new international connection linking Delhi and Hanoi, with daily flights starting December 20, 2025, as part of its broader expansion in Southeast Asia. The low-cost airline will also enhance operations from Mumbai, introducing a second daily service to Singapore and deploying upgraded aircraft with premium seating on the Phuket route.

The new Delhi–Hanoi service will be operated using an Airbus A320 aircraft and follows a unique dual-rotation schedule through Kolkata. Flight 6E1633 will depart Delhi at 07:25 a.m. IST, arriving in Hanoi at 01:00 p.m. local time, while the return service 6E1634 will depart Hanoi at 6:00 p.m. local time, arriving back in Delhi at 9:25 p.m. IST.

The launch marks IndiGo’s second direct link between India and Vietnam, adding to its existing Kolkata–Vietnam operations. By connecting two Asian capitals directly, the airline aims to attract both business and leisure travelers, avoiding transit through Bangkok or Singapore. IndiGo said the move reflects its confidence in Vietnam’s growing market, supported by relaxed visa rules, expanding tourism, and strengthening bilateral trade.

In addition to Vietnam, IndiGo is also reinforcing its Mumbai hub with expanded Southeast Asian connections. From Winter 2025, the Mumbai–Singapore route will receive a second daily flight, offering travelers greater flexibility and enabling better connectivity with IndiGo’s European flight banks.

The Mumbai–Phuket route will be upgraded to a two-class Airbus A321neo, introducing a premium Stretch cabin alongside economy seating. The airline has been progressively deploying this configuration on key international routes, extending its Stretch product from Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru to popular tourist destinations.

IndiGo’s latest expansion underscores its aggressive strategy in Southeast Asia, where it already operates to Bangkok, Phuket, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta, and Krabi, with plans to add Siem Reap soon. The airline’s extensive domestic network allows it to feed passengers from smaller Indian cities through Delhi and Mumbai, strengthening its position against regional competitors.

The daily Delhi–Hanoi flights represent IndiGo’s renewed confidence after its earlier 2023 plan to start Vietnam routes failed to materialize. With this move, the carrier signals its long-term commitment to building an interconnected network across South and Southeast Asia, while targeting both tourism and business travel growth between India and Vietnam.
