Kathmandu: Nepal Airlines Corporation is set to soar higher with the addition of two leased narrow-body aircraft, boosting its international operations and connecting passengers to new destinations. Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, announced this exciting development, highlighting the airline's commitment to growth and expansion.

Currently, the airline operates a fleet of four aircraft: two Twin Otters for domestic flights and two international jets – a narrow-body Airbus A320 and a wide-body Airbus A330. While one of the Twin Otters is undergoing maintenance, the new leased jets will specifically dedicate their service to international routes, addressing the existing capacity limitations.

This strategic move follows a call for international tenders announced on February 6th, 2024. The airline meticulously conducted the evaluation process, prioritizing factors like lease costs, operational expenses, and potential revenue generation.

"These leased aircraft will not only expand our network but also contribute significantly to the tourism industry by attracting more international travelers," emphasized Minister Kirati.

With this expansion, Nepal Airlines aims to cater to the growing demand for air travel, connect Nepal to more global destinations, and ultimately, bolster the nation's tourism sector. This news resonates with the airline's ongoing efforts to modernize its fleet and enhance its service offerings, promising a brighter future for Nepal's aviation industry.
