Tokyo,Japan: Japan Airlines (JAL) has successfully resumed normal operations following a cyberattack that caused significant disruptions to both domestic and international flights. The incident, which began at 7:24 a.m. JST, led to delays for over 20 flights and prompted the airline to temporarily suspend ticket sales for all departures on December 26.

The cyberattack affected critical systems linking JAL’s internal networks to external platforms, forcing the airline to disable a malfunctioning router. Fortunately, JAL confirmed that no customer data was compromised, and there were no computer virus-related damages.

While JAL faced operational challenges during the busy holiday travel season, its competitor, All Nippon Airways (ANA), reported no signs of a cyberattack on its systems. Meanwhile, American Airlines experienced a separate technical glitch on Christmas Eve that resulted in a brief nationwide grounding of flights.

As JAL continues to monitor system recovery efforts, it reassured passengers that flight safety remained uncompromised throughout the incident.
