Kathmandu, Nepal: An Italian national, Sergio Fetoza, aged 56, has been airlifted to Kathmandu following a serious fall at a hydropower project site in Taplejung. A Prabhu Air helicopter transported Fetoza to the capital for advanced medical care after he sustained multiple injuries, including a broken left arm and abdominal trauma.
The incident occurred on Thursday at the United Mewa Hydropower site in Meringden Rural Municipality-3, Khamlung, where Fetoza is employed. According to Bibek Basnet, the Information Officer at the District Police Office, the injured worker was initially treated at the district hospital before the decision was made to transfer him to Kathmandu due to the severity of his condition.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
