DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: Archer Aviation has signed an exclusive tripartite agreement with The Helicopter Company (THC) and Red Sea Global (RSG), laying the groundwork for the rollout of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) operations across Saudi Arabia beginning in 2026. The collaboration aims to fast-track the Kingdom’s shift toward next-generation air mobility as part of its Vision 2030 ambitions.

THC, a Public Investment Fund company and the Kingdom’s premier commercial helicopter operator — will leverage its nationwide experience across EMS, aerial work, private charters and tourism. The operator currently flies more than 60 aircraft and remains central to initiatives designed to expand general aviation infrastructure and boost inbound tourism.

RSG, a major Saudi developer focused on regenerative tourism and large-scale infrastructure, brings extensive expertise across transport, hospitality, real estate and sustainable destination development. Archer, meanwhile, is progressing towards Middle East deployment of its Midnight aircraft from as early as 2026.

The deal, signed at the Dubai Airshow, covers development, testing and potential integration of Archer’s eVTOL aircraft into RSG’s future operations, positioning the project as one of the Kingdom’s earliest advanced air mobility deployments. The MoU was signed by THC CEO Captain Arnaud Martinez, RSG Group CEO John Pagano, and Archer Aviation CCO Nikhil Goel.

Under the first phase, Archer, THC and RSG will establish a structured “sandbox” environment in Saudi Arabia to conduct real-world Midnight test flights. This will assess operational readiness, regulatory alignment, passenger acceptance, ecosystem capability and overall feasibility. The parties will also explore broader strategic partnerships for long-term deployment and testing of advanced aerial technologies.

RSG will lead the sandbox testing phase, capitalising on its controlled airspace and sustainable infrastructure. According to Archer, the setup offers an ideal proving ground for showcasing how advanced air mobility can support regenerative tourism and next-generation transport solutions.

THC CEO Captain Arnaud Martinez said the partnership underscores the company’s role in shaping Saudi Arabia’s aviation future, while RSG chief John Pagano highlighted the alignment with the company’s push for cleaner, more innovative mobility across its destinations. Archer’s founder and CEO Adam Goldstein noted that teaming with leading national operators is central to ensuring operational success as the Kingdom prepares for eVTOL adoption.

Upon completion of the testing program, the partners will evaluate results and advance plans for large-scale eVTOL rollout. All three organisations say the agreement marks a major milestone in Saudi Arabia’s move toward sustainable aviation and future mobility in line with Vision 2030.
